The Lindale Fire Department provides fire protection and rescue services for a 165 square mile area of Smith County in eastern Texas. This area includes the incorporated cities of Lindale and Hide-a-Way, 13 miles of Interstate 20, 10 miles of US Highway 69, 12 miles of US Highway 110, hundreds of miles of county roads, and over a billion dollars in property valuation.

LFD is an agressive department with funding coming from public donations and contracts with Smith County Emergency Services District #1, Tyler Pipe Industries, and the City of Hide-a-Way. The department operates out of two stations with a third in development, and a staff of approximately 40 volunteer firefighters. Current aparatus in operation include 4 class A pumpers, one ladder truck, one booster, 4 brush trucks, and a light-duty rescue.

LFD currently staffs 3 firefighters at Central Firestation 7 days a week, from 7am to 5pm with an additional 3 firefighters on duty at Station 2 Monday thru Friday. As always, volunteers are on call 24/7 to serve our community.
